Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.
Titus 3:1-2
As the Scripture states, we need to uphold and live out these guidelines listed therein. Learning to be godly men and women will require those who are motivated, to keep their hearts in check with Paul's instructions. Our hearts must be bridled when they desires to buck the rider of humility and obedience.
We are reminded that to be godly men and women, we must learn to be led. The Spirit nails Paul's reminders in our conscience and heart—to be men and women of submission, obedience, consideration, peace, humility and thoughtful words.
What a list to live by… a list that we should and need to memorize out of these two verses of Scripture (Titus 3:1-2), and we should make every effort to remind ourselves to think and live it out.
Action:
- Write these verses out on a card and start meditating on it.
- Commit these verses to memory.
- Be ready to obey when our rebellious nature/flesh starts to rise up in any way.
God, be Lord over our thoughts, motives, heart and life. We have so much to learn and areas to grow in. It's overwhelming at times but we know Your Spirit has filled us with desire and strength to live a disciplined and godly life!
