Keeping The Dream Alive

Eventually, Jacob and his other sons learned that their brother Joseph was second in command in Egypt. Through a variety of events Joseph revealed his identity, and Jacob was reunited with his son whom he had not seen for more than 13 years—he had thought Joseph to be dead.

So often we believe our dreams are dead or we forego them thinking it just is not meant to be. We may even come to a place and think that there seems to be nothing left in our world to live for. During these times, God is performing a deeper work in each of us—a work that cannot be seen.

God is doing His deepest behind-the-scenes work during these times.

In these times we need to be willing to listen more intently, and to seek God more deeply than we normally do. C.S. Lewis once wrote, "God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains; it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world."¹

Do not lose heart in the dreams that God has purposed in you to complete for His kingdom and glory alone. Keep following God's lead and growing in the knowledge and grace of Him. As God continues to mold and prepare you for the role and task He has just for you, see this time as an opportunity to get to know Him better and strengthen your relationship with Him.

Let's dream big… let's exploit our lives for God and attempt great things for Him. But let's not forget that He calls us to be faithful in every circumstance or dream in life—extraordinary or not.
